the wait is over

And so the wait is over.

Confirmation is made.

If Isaac had a metabolic genetic defect,
Markers in the urine are always present.

And they aren’t.

The first time I’m thankful for something being missing ,
Since the day he was born.

So finally I am free from the hold it’s had on the back of my mind,
The depth of my heart,
Since the investigation began eight months ago.

And as if on cue,
By way of proof,
Isaac pushes up onto his knees and elbows,
Tummy high off the ground,
For the very first time.
Well on his way to four-point crawling.

And I am truly happy.

The sky is the limit.
